Mission Music Core Values

  1. We care about people, not position

Soul Care

You don’t come as an artist, songwriter, or influencer. You are an image bearing child of God. After that You have gifts to offer. Your relationship with God will always take precedent over your team membership.

Being actively involved and committed to a community group and or discipleship group is a requirement for being on the Music team (Effective October 2026).

2. Communication is what makes our world go round

Planning Center Services

Services is the one-stop-shop for our church family. 99% of our communication will take place there. From confirming dates, to covering positions for last minute emergencies; Services is the hub. Reach out if you need help finding the app and or learning how to use it.

Email

A few communications go out via Email — most frequently the Songbook, music playlists, and info for Sunday if you are on the band that week. This is the path to preparation.

Regularly checking and keeping up with messages is a requirement for being on the music team.

3. Preparation frees us

Preparation frees us to worship in heart and mind while we serve. Preparation frees us to appropriately respond to the movements of the Holy Spirit in the service. Preparation frees us to engage and care for the people of the church. The lack of preparation binds our heart and mind to practicality, putting us in danger of quenching the Spirit.

Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.

Ecclesiastes 9:10a (ESV)

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might.

4. Collaboration

Song Writing

We want to write songs together for our church. We want our music to teach theology and make much of Jesus by having lyrics that center on God and tell the Gospel story. Let the music pastor know if you have an interest in this.

Song Canon

As we continue to expand our song canon, the songs that are “Mission Music”, I need help as the Worship Pastor. Send me song titles with the artist name when you think of it. I can add it to the queue of songs to be reviewed and assessed. There is never a guarantee a song will make it (even if I personally really like it), but I will take all the ears I can for finding new songs for our Church family.
