The Power Of Prayer

Do you and your kids pray for the little things and not just the big things? The lost toy, the freshly scrapped knee? I read a book years ago called, "A Praying Life". And this book changed the way I view prayer. The author, Paul Miller talks about praying about all things from a lost contact lens, to the need for a parking spot, God cares about them all, because He cares for US!

I think this is one of the ways we can teach our kids about prayer is to remind them that because God loves us so deeply He wants us to come to Him about anything and everything. Thinking this was, I think about my own son, I love him so much I don't want him to hide things from me, things that are troubling him, or scaring him or things that are making him laugh! I want to hear it all!

So maybe the next time your kid looses their favorite toy, or is struggling at school, or you all are looking for a parking spot, stop and pray out loud with your kids. Model that prayer is a way to go to our GOOD FATHER because he cares about us
